Use Alt+B to minimize the game
Press Alt+B to try Deskrawl’s Boss key. A September 30 player report describes that shortcut as minimizing the game. This gives you a useful starting point when the combat strip is covering another application.
The same report says the app icon remains visible at the bottom of the screen. Minimized does not mean removed from the taskbar, and the report specifically requests a separate system-tray behaviour. Do not expect the shortcut to make the application invisible everywhere.
Keep another window in front instead
If you want to watch a video or read a page without the combat strip on top, a pre-release September 22 reply suggests unticking Always on Top and turning off Play Audio in Background. These settings address different interruptions: one concerns the window’s position relative to other apps; the other concerns sound. Their exact current-client behaviour has not been checked.

If Alt+B conflicts with another shortcut
An October 1 player reported being unable to rebind the Boss key. That is a report of a problem, not proof that every current installation has the same limitation. A reliable alternate binding or configuration-file fix has not been confirmed.
Check the controls offered by your current build before changing another app’s shortcuts. If rebinding still fails, include the Deskrawl version and the conflicting key combination in your report; the October thread does not supply a working replacement binding.
What hiding the window does not establish
The reports establish a display shortcut, not what happens to farming or resource use while the window is minimized. If continued background progress matters to your setup, check that separately before relying on it.
